There’s something about the original Disney theme park. From the upcoming 70th anniversary celebrations to the truly iconic Disney foods there, we are always ready to book a trip to Anaheim. Something that makes Disneyland even better? Being chosen for the first rider signature book! If you have no idea what we’re talking about, don’t worry! We’re giving you all of the secret details right here.

Disneyland is so special to us! It was Walt’s original theme park and there is just some special magic in the air. (Are we biased? Maybe!) The first Disney theme park set the groundwork for the other parks we now love around the world but there are special things that still set Disneyland above the rest at times.

One of those special little things we love is the First Rider Book at The Many Adventures of  Winnie the Pooh! The first rider book has gone super viral on social media and it’s pretty self-explanatory. Almost every day, the first person who is in line for Winnie the Pooh gets to add their signature to this exclusive book.

Thanks to the love on social media, this has become the ultimate rope drop goal for many Disney fans. If you’re new to the Disney language, rope dropping is when you get to the parks before they open so you can avoid long lines later in the day. To compete for the coveted spot of first rider, you’re going to want to rope drop!

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is in Bayou Country, formerly known as Critter Country, so if you’re attempting for that special spot in line, you’re going to want to book it there! (Remember, don’t run in the Disney parks! It’s against the rules!) It varies from day to day depending on the Cast Members if the book is available and if only the first person or first group in line gets to sign the book.

On our rope drop morning, we weren’t quite the first in line but we did get to see the book signed which was also really cool! Even if you don’t get to sign the book, you still get to hop on the attraction which takes you through the Hundred Acer Wood to Pooh’s birthday celebrations.

After we hopped on the ride, we chatted with guest relations to learn more about this special Disneyland activity. According to the Cast Members, this isn’t a Disneyland management-made tradition. Cast Members at this attraction took it upon themselves to start their own tradition at the ride which we think is super cool.

There is no official list of other attractions that also might have special and unique opportunities like this one. This is another one of those little things that we love in Disneyland and helps set it apart. This is also a great reminder that the Cast Members truly bring the magic to the Disney theme parks. As always, make sure to keep following DFB for all of the best Disneyland tips and tricks.
