Disney4me
After officially being the longest-running Virtual Queue in Disney World ride history, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will soon switch to a standby queue. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind This means that riders will no longer have to try to snag a spot in the Virtual Queue on the My Disney Experience app at 7 AM and 1 PM, but instead will be able to join the regular line at any time. As of February 25th, 2025, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT will no longer require guests to use a Virtual Queue in order to ride. Instead, you’ll be able to join the regular standby queue anytime the ride is operating. Cosmic Rewind has been using a Virtual Queue since the ride opened, which is typically how Disney handles new rides due to high demand. This ride had the distinction of being the one to use a VQ for the longest amount of time so far in Disney World since it still remains popular. Cosmic Rewind entrance We recently saw the end of the VQ at TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom, which opened after Cosmic Rewind but ditched its Virtual Queue before the Guardians ride. In addition to Cosmic Rewind, Disney has also announced that the Virtual Queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom would end and switch to a standby line on the same date, February 25th. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Disney hasn’t officially announced what will happen with Cosmic Rewind’s Lightning Lane, but since it has functioned as a Lightning Lane Single Pass since the ride opened, we’re pretty confident that will still be the case even after the ride switches to standby. Lightning Lanes! Disney World’s Virtual Queue system is a tool available through the My Disney Experience app (for Disney World) and the Disneyland app (for Disneyland Resort) which allows guests to reserve a space in line for the most popular park attractions. This space is referred to as a Boarding Pass for use within an assigned Boarding Group. Lightning Lane Single Passes can be purchased in the My Disney Experience app. (This service was previously known as Individual Attraction Lightning Lane Selections via Disney Genie.) Lightning Lane Single Pass is essentially a pay-per-ride service, where you pay a fee to utilize the Lightning Lane for an individual, in-demand attraction — like Cosmic Rewind.
