Why Disney Fans HATE Disney World’s Latest “Good News”

Recommended Posts

It may have just felt like a normal Tuesday to most of us, but Disney World decided February 18th was the day to announce some MASSIVE Disney news!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Disney just announced that as of February 25th, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT will no longer require a Virtual Queue and will instead switch to a standby line. Some guests are excited about this change, but many others? Well, let’s just say they’re not happy.

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

This means that instead of having to wake up at 7 AM to grab a spot in the Virtual Queue or try again at 1 PM once you’re in EPCOT or Magic Kingdom, the ride will now switch to standby, meaning no one will need a Virtual Queue to ride.

However, many fans are upset about this for Cosmic Rewind simply because the demand for the ride is so large, they’re expecting for lines to be massive. When we shared the news on our Instagram, we were quickly flooded with comments from multiple readers with concerns. User @bradsdisney shared, “I don’t even think the [guardians] queue line will be big enough to contain the main queue!”

Many other readers stated that since EPCOT has TWO rides closed at the moment (Test Track, which won’t be open until this summer, and Gran Fiesta Tour, which is set to reopen in March) this is NOT a great decision. User @ztodd19photography shared, “That’s great, but these first couple years are gonna be some long lines. Because it’s clearly the best ride in Epcot. And with Test Track under construction, all ride traffic will be right there. They should’ve waited till Test Track was finished to make [the] flow of traffic easier.”

Comments from readers saying that they’re upset now they won’t be able to ride Cosmic Rewind on their trip are still coming in every few minutes, with users like @emimacc saying, “I’m so worried for [guardians!] I mean I would love to ride it a million times but don’t want to wait hours.” It’s true that this change will cause wait times to soar for this attraction, and many guests much rather prefer the Virtual Queue instead of standby lines.

However, there are lots of readers who are excited about this change, as many of them have had trouble getting Virtual Queue spots in the past. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for how this change affects the park, so stay tuned to DFB!
