Disney4me
OK, we’ll say it: we are control freaks. We carefully plan our trips to Disney World, scour menus ahead of time, and look inside each and every hotel before we book a reservation. But there are some things we just can’t control. GAH! Walt Disney World entrance We hate to admit it, but we can’t control the crowds, the lines, or the prices during the busy season at Disney World. It’s inevitable! But here’s the thing. Even though a lot of people already know that Disney World tends to be C R O W D E D in March, there’s one mistake we still see people making on vacation. Don’t make this mistake! OK, before we dive in, we should give you a little context. March is an infamous month in Disney World. Some fun events kick off in the spring, like the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, Mardi Gras, and Women’s History Month, but March is also around the time when the spring break crowds start heading to Disney World. Yikes! Phineas and Ferb at the Flower and Garden Festival There’s no official start date for spring break — it’s more of a large window of time that begins in mid-March and spans through mid-April. In the past, we’ve seen crowds start to pick up around March 15th, with the peak crowds hitting around Easter. Easter falls on Sunday, April 20th this year. Get ready for Easter crowds! During this time, expect higher wait times and a generally busy theme park day. It might take longer than usual for your mobile order to arrive. You might find long lines for small attractions that typically have a five-minute wait. You might even see the GIFT SHOPS fill up with people. It’s hard to escape the crowds. Animal Kingdom crowds Why are we telling you this? Even if you know Disney World will be crowded, you might not know what this means BEFORE you even step foot in the parks. Transportation takes a LOT longer than you might expect! We’ve seen people make this mistake all the time. Driving to Disney World is time-consuming! Even if the map says your destination is only 15–20 minutes away, don’t be fooled! It takes time for the bus (or boat or Monorail) to arrive. It takes time for everyone to get on the bus. It takes time for the bus to drive to all its stops. It takes time for everyone to unload their strollers. It takes time to go through security and scan your ticket. TL;DR? Give yourself at least an hour to get where you need to go. Disney’s Hollywood Studios entrance But wait! While you’re calculating the time you need to get to your destination, don’t forget the time it takes to actually WALK to your reservation or attraction. Let’s say you have a Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance. Well, it takes a while to walk all the way to the back of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Don’t stop the clock when you arrive at the park! Spring Break crowds are no joke Here’s another mistake you might make. Let’s say you jumped in line at your hotel bus stop to Magic Kingdom. Great! You’re on the right track. But there’s one small problem. You’re standing at the very back of the line. Sometimes, you might not fit on the bus (or boat or Monorail) if the line is especially long. That means you have to wait even LONGER for the next bus to arrive. If you’re running low on time and the line looks long, you might want to splurge on a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Lyft pick-up We can’t make the crowds disappear, but we can help you prepare for the busy season! Patience is the name of the game here, so just make sure you know what you’re getting into if you visit Disney World this March. It will be busy, but you can still have fun in Disney World! Just make sure to give yourself enough time to get where you need to go. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
