Disney4me
Disney World hotels are NOT all created equal (trust us, we’ve stayed in all of them). Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Some hotel splurges are worth every penny, while others…not so much. If you’re going to drop some extra cash on your Disney stay, you want to make sure it’s actually going to enhance your trip. That’s why we’re breaking down four hotel upgrades that Disney pros agree are 100% worth it! Preferred Rooms at Value Resorts If you’re staying at a Disney World Value Resort (like Pop Century, All-Star Movies, or Art of Animation), you might be tempted to go for the cheapest room available. But here’s the deal – opting for a Preferred Room can save you time, energy, and frustration. Art of Animation Hotel At Value Resorts, the standard rooms are often located in the farthest buildings, which means long walks to the food court, pool, and bus stops. If you’re rope-dropping the parks or coming back after a long day, that extra trek can feel brutal. Preferred Rooms put you closer to the resort’s main amenities, making your stay just a little easier, and after a 20,000-step park day, you’ll be glad you made the upgrade. Club Level at Coronado Springs (or Any Deluxe Resort) Club Level is one of those Disney splurges that doesn’t seem necessary…until you experience it. At Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort (and at deluxe resorts), Club Level rooms come with access to an exclusive lounge that serves snacks, drinks, and even alcohol throughout the day. Pasta and meatballs Why is this worth the splurge? First, free food and drinks can help offset the cost – breakfast, midday snacks, and evening appetizers can easily replace some meals in the parks. Assorted meats and cheese, olives Second, the lounge is a peaceful escape from the chaos of Disney crowds. Instead of fighting for a table at a quick-service spot, you can relax in a comfy lounge with free refreshments. Chronos Club Lounge Plus, Club Level guests get personalized concierge service to help with dining and park plans. If you’re looking for a way to upgrade your trip without jumping to a full deluxe resort price, Club Level at Coronado is a fantastic middle ground. Staying at a Skyliner Resort (or on the BoardWalk) Transportation is a BIG deal at Disney World, and the Disney Skyliner has completely changed the game for resort guests. Resorts with Skyliner access – like Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera Resort – offer a fast, scenic, and stress-free way to get to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. If you’ve ever been stuck waiting for a bus after fireworks, you know how much of a game-changer this is. Skyliner at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort But if you really want to step up your trip, staying on the BoardWalk (at resorts like the BoardWalk Inn, Beach Club, or Yacht Club) is an even bigger upgrade. These hotels put you within walking distance of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, meaning no waiting for transportation at all. Walking path from Beach Club to EPCOT Walking into EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance in under 10 minutes is a splurge we’d make every time. Upgrading to the Swan or Dolphin Over a Value or Moderate Resort We always talk about the Swan and Dolphin Hotels (and their newer sibling, the Swan Reserve), and for good reason. These Marriott-owned resorts are technically not Disney-owned, but they come with a TON of Disney perks. Dolphin Hotel For about the same price as a Disney Moderate Resort, you get a deluxe-style hotel with better dining, a prime location near EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and extended evening hours in the parks (a perk only for deluxe resort guests). The pool is incredible, the beds are famously comfortable, and you can use Marriott points to book your stay. Walt Disney World Swan When planning your Disney World trip, the right splurge can mean the difference between a good vacation and an amazing one. It’s all about choosing upgrades that will actually improve your experience, make your time at Disney World more enjoyable, and – dare we say – even a little more magical.
