Disney4me
There was a big shift at Disney World this week and with the changes, there will be one mistake you want to avoid. EPCOT The days of waking early to be on your phone to grab a Virtual Queue for Disney World rides are over… for now. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom are now using standby lines instead of the Virtual Queue system. This has impacts on how you will do your next Disney World vacation. We were there in the parks on February 25th when the switch to standby began so that we could tell you, our readers, how it went! We saw a fluctuation of wait times and we even saw Cosmic Rewind hit 170 minutes at one point during the day. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind The good news is that if you are staying at a Disney World hotel, you can utilize Early Entry for Cosmic Rewind. Early Entry is for resort guests to be able to access certain rides throughout the park 30 minutes before other guests. As of right now, Tiana’s is not a part of Early Entry at Magic Kingdom, but that could change. But, if you aren’t looking to wait standby for either of these rides, there is another option. Crowds at Cosmic Rewind Both rides are available as Lightning Lanes, but this is where the mistake part comes in. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is available as a Tier 1 ride on Multi Pass. Just to refresh your memory, Lightning Lane Multi Pass is an optional paid service available through the My Disney Experience app which allows you to bypass standby lines and enter the Lightning Lane at select attractions in the parks by paying a base price for multiple attractions. This Tier 1 attraction could be hard to get, but not impossible so if you are staying at a Disney hotel, you can book these 7 days ahead of your stay. If you are not, you can book these 3 days before your park visit. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure However, do NOT make the mistake of assuming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a Tier 1 attraction on Multi Pass as well. It is not, instead it is a Lightning Lane Single Pass ride. Lightning Lane Single Pass is essentially a pay-per-ride service. Guests pay a fee to utilize the Lightning Lane for an individual attraction — you can book Lightning Lane Single Passes for up to TWO attractions maximum per ticket, per day. The good news with that is if you are willing to pay for it, it guarantees you a time to ride it instead of working to grab a Tier 1 slot through Multi Pass. Lightning Lanes!
