Disney4me
Each year, millions of passengers pass through Orlando International Airport (MCO) at the start and end of their Disney World vacations, which means that each year millions of people need ground transportation between the airport and the resort. MCO Airport Whether taking a ride share, taxi, shuttle, or public transportation, there are certain rules that any traveler looking for ground transportation from MCO needs to know in order to get keep their trip moving as smoothly as possible. < Boarding Passes So, let’s begin with something travelers need to know before even reaching the airport. If you’re taking a Mears shuttle to or from MCO, you’ll receive a boarding pass exactly 23 hours before your scheduled flight time. In the hustle and bustle of either last minute packing (or trying to squeeze out as much fun as possible from a Disney World vacation if you’re flying home the next day), be sure to keep an eye out for these passes. Mears Connect Express Vehicles Speaking of Mears, if you’re taking one of the company’s Express Shuttles — the service which “minimizes your travel time on the vehicle by making your hotel the first stop after leaving the airport and the last stop before heading to the airport” — be aware that the vehicle picking you up at your hotel may be different than the vehicle that took you to your hotel at the beginning of your trip, so keep an eye out. ©Mears Resort Departure If you’re being picked up by a Mears shuttle at your Disney World hotel, be aware that your pickup time will depend on your flight destination. If you have a U.S. domestic flight, you will be picked approximately 3 hours prior to your scheduled flight, but if you’re flying international you’ll be picked up 4 hours prior. Delays Speaking of resort departure pickups, according to Mears, the company “does not generally adjust resort departure times for delays as airlines can lift those delays at any time.” In other words, even if you receive notice that your flight is delayed, your shuttle will still be arriving at the previously scheduled pickup time. Mears Connect bus Ride Share Zones Finally, jumping over to ride share options, there is something you need to keep in mind if you’re planning to use a service like Uber, Lyft or Wingz.
