Disney4me
Disney World hotels come with a whole lot of perks — including free parking for guests. Disney’s Riviera Resort This is also true if you’ve got an Advance Dining Reservation for one of the many restaurants at the hotels. And, while Disney welcomes anyone to their hotels, whether they’re staying there or not, that doesn’t mean that just anyone can pull up and park at them. In fact, there are some Disney World hotels that will ALWAYS crack down on the parking rules — no matter what. Disney World hotel parking is reserved for those with hotel and dining reservations, which means that in most cases, unless you’ve got one of these reservations — you likely won’t be able to park at a hotel. You may find that certain hotels are a bit more lax with the rules and may allow you to park there just to visit or grab something to eat from a quick-service restaurant, but there are some hotels that will almost always crack down on those parking rules! Monorail Resorts Disney’s monorail resorts include those that are along the monorail line — including the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, and the Contemporary. These resorts are incredibly close to Magic Kingdom — like, within walking distance, so you can probably see why people would want to try and park here to skirt the rules. But, we definitely don’t recommend doing that. Disney’s Contemporary Resort The parking attendants who work at these hotels weren’t born yesterday, and because of this, you’ll find yourself having a harder time trying to park here if you don’t have a hotel or dining reservation. If you do want to explore these hotels without staying at them, you can make a dining reservation at one of the restaurants and THEN take the monorail or walk to another hotel if you want to check it out. Kiss, Marry, Kill: Magic Kingdom Monorail Hotels EPCOT Area Resorts The EPCOT area resorts — Disney’s Yacht Club, Disney’s Beach Club, and the BoardWalk Inn — have a similar situation. They’re in the EPCOT area (duh) and because of this, they’re close to not one, but two parks with Hollywood Studios not too far away either. The BoardWalk is home to some seriously stellar dining, but unless you’ve got a reservation for one of the table service restaurants, you might have a hard time parking there. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn The same is true for the Yacht & Beach Club. Both hotels are within walking distance of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and they also offer boat transportation. Folks often try to game the system by attempting to park at the EPCOT hotels and trying to walk to the park — but it doesn’t have a solid history of working. This is especially true around the holiday season, when these hotels have incredible gingerbread displays! Which Disney World Resort Hotel is Best for YOU? Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Speaking of holidays, there are certain times of the year when parking at disneyfoodblog.com/disneys-fort-wilderness-restaurants/ is absolutely, positively, only for people staying there. You see, Fort Wilderness is home to some incredible golf cart parades for various holidays like Halloween, Christmas, and even the Fourth of July. They’ve gotten pretty popular over the years, but because of that, Disney has had to limit the spectators to people actually staying at Fort Wilderness during these times of year. Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho! Not only that, but the Disney World website mentions that The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort allow parking for one motorized vehicle per campsite. This means that if you’re bringing more than one vehicle to the campsite or you plan on renting a golf cart while you’re there, the remainder of your vehicles will need to be parked at the front of the resort, near the lobby. Learn More About Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Here Riviera Resort Disney’s Riviera Resort is the newest hotel to open at Disney World — and it’s utterly gorgeous. It’s also home to some incredible dining including Topolino’s Terrace — and it’s on Disney’s Skyliner. Just like the rest of the hotels on this list, you’ll likely have a hard time making it through the parking gate at this hotel if you’re not actually staying there. Disney’s Riviera Resort We know, we know, the Skyliner is legit, so we can see why so many people would want to park here and try to hitch a ride to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, but unless you’ve got a dining reservation at Riviera or are staying there, parking here is a no-go. This has even been true in the past for one of our team members who is a DVC member with points at the Riviera Resort!
