Disney World is full of hidden experiences that most guests don’t even realize exist. You might think Disney World is just a theme park with rides, but it’s so much more than that. Let’s break down some of the coolest and most unexpected experiences you can do at Disney World. Experience Live Entertainment at The Edison Disney Springs is a go-to spot for dining and entertainment, but did you know that The Edison offers live entertainment in the evenings? Before the pandemic, this steampunk-industrial eatery went all out with its late-night acts. While things have changed a bit since then, The Edison still provides a great atmosphere for live music and a fun night out. The Edison From smooth jazz to energetic bands, the entertainment varies depending on the night. Shows typically start around 7 PM Sunday through Thursday and at 6:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, running until about 10:30 PM. If you’re looking for a place to unwind with some great food and even better vibes, this is a must-visit. Go on a Starlight Safari at Animal Kingdom Lodge Think Animal Kingdom is only exciting during park hours? Well, over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, you can embark on a Starlight Safari that takes you onto the savanna in a special cast member-driven vehicle. Using night vision goggles, you’ll get a unique view of over 30 wildlife species, including zebras, giraffes, and gazelles. ©Disney This hour-long experience runs twice nightly, though times and prices ($75-$89 per person) vary. Just be sure to check availability and make a reservation in advance. Oh, and you’ll need to be at least 8 years old to join the adventure! Listen to Live Jazz at Scat Cat’s Club You don’t have to travel to New Orleans to enjoy some smooth jazz! Tucked away in Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, Scat Cat’s Club offers live jazz music every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:30 PM to midnight. They’ve got a stage for jazz band performances on the weekends. Pair that with a cocktail and some Mickey-shaped beignets, and you’ve got yourself a perfect Disney night. This hidden gem is a great way to enjoy live entertainment without fighting the crowds in the parks. Dive into EPCOT’s Aquarium If you’ve ever dreamed of swimming alongside sea turtles, sharks, and thousands of fish, Disney World can make it happen. The DiveQuest experience at EPCOT allows certified scuba divers to enter the park’s massive 5.7-million-gallon saltwater aquarium. ©Disney While the entire tour lasts about two hours, you’ll get 40 minutes of actual dive time inside the tank. The rest of the tour takes you behind the scenes to learn about the aquarium’s operations and marine life care. Pricing runs between $229-$249 per diver, and while this experience isn’t currently available, it’s set to return in spring 2025—so mark your calendars!
