Drinks

This year’s special Festival drink is the Blackcurrant Gin Cocktail made with Ford’s Gin with lemon juice, blackcurrant syrup, and cucumber syrup. You can grab this frozen treat for $12.

Blackcurrant Gin Cocktail

We’re kind of conflicted about this one! We didn’t hate it, but we didn’t love it either. It’s definitely a cucumber-forward drink, but the additional flavors mask the cucumber taste a little bit. But, the more you drink, the more you get of the blackcurrant gin underneath it, so it’s got a little bit more of a sweeter side to it.

Tasty!

We would have loved if this drink had it a little bit more sourness or tartness to it, but overall it was pretty balanced. Not too sweet, but still on the sweeter side. It’s a forgettable drink though and doesn’t leave a lasting impression. It’s pretty to look at, but we feel like there are better drinks you can pick up at the festival over this one.

OVERALL

If you’re a fan of cucumber or gin-based drinks, this one is probably going to be a hit for you! The frozen aspect was certainly refreshing, and the cucumber did make this drink taste rather fresh. We just wish there had been more of the blackcurrant or lemon juice to help cut down a bit of the sweetness from the cucumber syrup!
