Disney4me
Disney World is full of surprises, and sometimes, those surprises come in the form of unexpected purchases. Magic Kingdom No matter how much planning you do, there are always little things that can make or break your day. Some purchases in Disney World may seem like unnecessary (and overpriced) luxuries, but when you’re in the middle of a long, hot park day, they can be total lifesavers. Here are a few things we never thought we’d buy in Disney World, but they made our day so much better. DISCLOSURE: This post may contain affiliate links, meaning when you click the links and make a purchase, we receive a commission. Preferred Parking at the TTC If you’ve ever parked at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and had to wait for the tram – or worse, walk what feels like miles to the Monorail or ferry – you know it can start your day off on a pretty frustrating note. That’s where Preferred Parking comes in. Zurg parking lot Full disclosure: it is an extra cost (it can be $15–$25 more than standard parking), but it gets you much closer to the entrance, which means less walking and more energy for all the fun stuff. Parking at the TTC If you’re arriving later in the day, this upgrade is even more worth it because standard parking spots fill up fast, and you could end up parked wayyyy in the back of the parking lot. Preferred Room at Your Disney Resort At first, paying extra for a Preferred Room at your Disney resort might seem unnecessary – after all, all rooms are technically within the same hotel. But after one too many long walks from the farthest building at a Value or Moderate Resort, you can quickly realize how much of a difference it makes. Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter Resort Preferred Rooms are closer to transportation, dining, and amenities, which means less time trekking back and forth after a long park day. When your feet are aching, and all you want is a shower and a comfy bed, having a room close by is a game-changer. Lightning Lane Premier Pass Lightning Lane Premier Pass is one of the most expensive Disney World upgrades you can get. With prices ranging from $129 to $449 per person, per day, depending on the park, it’s a major splurge. But if you truly want a stress-free day with zero planning, this pass lets you skip the lines at every Lightning Lane attraction without having to reserve times. ©Disney While the Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a much cheaper option, the Premier Pass is perfect for those who don’t want to micromanage their day or worry about missing out on the most popular rides. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it a complete luxury? Absolutely. But if you’re only visiting Disney World for a short time and want to maximize every second, it might be worth considering. Plus, it’s cheaper than a V.I.P. Tour. A High-Quality Park Bag I used to think any backpack would do for a Disney trip, but after one too many sore shoulders and sweaty backs, I realized the value of a high-quality park bag. For example, have a look at Enter the Corkcicle EOLA Cooler Backpack. ©Amazon It’s stylish, durable, and insulated, which means it keeps your drinks cool while also functioning as a regular backpack. ©Amazon Having a bag that’s comfortable to carry and helps keep snacks and water bottles cold is a game-changer, especially in the Florida heat. Yes, it’s more expensive than a basic backpack, but it’s an investment that makes park days so much more enjoyable. Get it here! So, while it’s not absolutely necessary to purchase any of these things while you’re at Disney World, they will make your Disney day a whole lot smoother, more comfortable, and way more enjoyable.
