Disney4me
Back at D23, Disney announced that an official Monsters Inc. themed land, Monstropolis, would be coming to Hollywood Studios. Not only that, but Chairman Josh D’Amaro told the crowd, “You’ll go into the factory and experience the first suspended coaster ever in a Disney park. Remember in the movie how those claws grab the doors and hoist them up into the air to take them away? We’re doing that, too. And you’re going along for the ride.” D23 Ever since then, we have been eagerly anticipating any news about the upcoming attraction (because just like Josh D’Amaro, we too have always wanted to ride on the doors like Mike and Sulley!). Now, the day has finally arrived-Disney has revealed all-new details about the coaster! Let’s go check it out. Disney just shared a NEW video with some AMAZING renderings of its suspended coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Walt Disney Imagineering shares a new look at the Monsters, Inc. coaster loading area and first-ever vertical lift that will hoist riders in the air like never before as they zoom into the door vault! https://t.co/9Rwf0YtRGX #SXSW pic.twitter.com/fnTaDIA6AR — Disney Parks (@DisneyParks) March 8, 2025 In the video, you can see the coaster being LIFTED off the ground! We have NEVER seen anything like that before. It’s the world’s first! ©Disney This helps eliminate the need for a vertical hill in the coaster, making it different from other coasters. The new Monsters, Inc. Land will take humans to Monstropolis for the first time ever! Here, the monsters are looking for your help. They need our laughs to power the city and keep things working. A new land themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Monsters, Inc.” is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Taking place after the events of the film, Monstropolis need humans’ laughter to power the city. Guests can even ride on a door like Mike and Sully in the iconic scene from the film with Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster. Inside the Monsters, Inc. plant, you’ll find the first-ever suspended roller coaster in a Disney park. A suspended roller-coaster is one where you sit in your seat, but your legs dangle off the ground. The seat is attached to the track above your head instead of under your seat. ©Disney It sounds like it’s going to be tons of fun! We even got to see a 3-D model of the new ride at the D23 event. The model looks really cool! You can how you’ll be inside the factory and whipping and twisting through the area holding all the doors to the human world. Concept art and model for the Monsters Inc. Land coming to Hollywood Studios Monstropolis is taking over Muppets Courtyard in Hollywood Studios while the Muppets are moving over to Rockin’ Roller Coaster. From the concept art, it also looks like we’ll be gaining HarryHausen’s from the Monsters, Inc. movie! ©Disney We’ve waited 23 years for this ride announcement, and we’re super excited to finally get to ride on a door through Monsters, Inc! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more. Will There Actually Be TWO COASTERS in Disney World’s Villains Land?
