Disney4me
Okay, let’s face it. When compared to Disney World’s other theme parks, the food at Magic Kingdom is…well…it’s just okay. Pecos Bill Now, don’t get us wrong, Skipper Canteen is one of our favorite Disney World restaurants, but beyond that, unless we want a Cheshire Cat Tail or one of those famous cinnamon rolls at Gaston’s tavern, finding a good meal in Magic Kingdom, especially at a quick service restaurant is difficult. However, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe changed their menu last year, and things were starting to look up. Well, we just revisited Pecos Bill and we think that Magic Kingdom might FINALLY have a decent — if not really good — quick service restaurant now! Yes, we’re back at Pecos Bill to see if things are continuing to improve there. We started with the Southwest Caesar Salad made with Romaine tossed in Creamy Salsa Verde Dressing, Pepitas, Queso Fresco, Pico de Gallo, and Tortilla Strips for $12.99. You can also add Citrus-Chipotle Chicken, Cherry BBQ Cola Pork, or Green Chile Beef for an additional $0.50. This salad continues to surprise us. The dressing is really what makes it — because it’s salsa verde based, it’s different than anything we’ve had before. Southwest Caesar Salad The salad itself is good, but for us, the loads of dressing on it just makes it even better. We also liked the crunchy pepitas and tortilla strips. We got chicken with ours, and it just worked beautifully. This is a salad we would order again. We’re going to put it at the top of the list for our fave Magic Kingdom salad. Best Magic Kingdom salad We also ordered the Double Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger for $16.19. It comes with Two Flame-broiled All-Beef Patties topped with American Cheese, Bacon, and Coca-Cola Cherry Barbecue Sauce served with Barbecue-Cheddar Seasoned Fries. Well, this one surprised us, too. The burger is tender and juicy. Our biggest complaint, though, is that we really wanted more of that Coca-Cola Cherry Barbecue sauce. However, this was still a solidly good burger. Double Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger You also get a decent amount of fries, so it’s a hefty meal. The seasoning on the fries is also PERFECT. Now, there are better burgers and fries to be had in Disney World, but if you’re hungry in Magic Kingdom, this is a good choice, especially if you might have picky eaters in your group. Love the fries seasoning So the next time you find yourself in Magic Kingdom looking for a quick meal, don’t pass over Pecos Bill.
