We’re Astonished Disney World Hasn’t Jumped On This Dessert Trend

Recommended Posts

There are tons of different treats you can get around Disney World. Some are classic, like a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar or a churro, while others are a little more unique.

So iconic

We love trying all the new snacks that are released around the Disney World parks, but we have to admit, sometimes we see popular snacks outside of the parks and we expect Disney to be the first to jump on the trend. For example, we’ve heard SO much about Dubai Chocolate these past few months, and yet Disney hasn’t released any sort of snack to take advantage of the popularity.

If you’re on TikTok often, you’ve probably seen something called Dubai Chocolate go viral in the past few months. However, it actually goes back MUCH further than that! In case you haven’t seen it, we’ll catch you up — a video was posted in 2023 of Dubai Chocolate, actually called a Pistachio Kataifi Chocolate Bar, and it went totally viral (like 6 million likes viral).

@fixdessertchocolatier WOW, JUST WOW!!! Can’t explain how good these are! When a chocolate, a dessert and a piece of art meet this is what you get! 🍫 “Can’t Get Knafeh of it,” “Mind Your Own Busicoff,” and “Crazy Over Caramel.” Order on Instagram Chatfood or Deliveroo and let me know what’s your FIX? Ever since then, people have been vying to get their hands on the chocolate bar to try it themselves, but international shipping costs a small fortune. What makes this chocolate bar so special? Well, it’s inspired by a traditional Middle Eastern dessert but has a fun twist to it. It’s made up of phyllo, pistachio, and chocolate, and it’s definitely a flavor profile that many are absolutely obsessed with. You’ve got a crunch from the kataifi (the phyllo pastry), rich chocolate, and the sweet/savory pistachio cream.

Since the surge of interest in the treat, many US retailers have begun attempting to make or bring in their own version, like Costco, for example. With it being as popular as it is, we expected Disney to hop on the trend right away…but they haven’t. It’s been months that the treat has been viral, and we haven’t seen Disney release anything new that has a similar flavor profile.

However, it’s totally possible that Disney IS working on a similar treat, but they could still be in the testing/creation phase. We could also see a treat pop up at this year’s Food and Wine Festival in EPCOT, which could be a great way to test out a treat that may not be for everything with lesser stakes — instead of buying ingredients to bake and sell large quantities of a new dessert like this in a prominent store, they could place it at a festival booth and see how it does in smaller quantities first to gauge interest.

While we’ve seen Disney hop on many similar food trends in the past, as this treat has potentially a smaller interested audience, Disney may also choose to sit this one out due to the cost to get the ingredients, because they’re concerned about allergies, or that there isn’t enough demand for making an entirely new treat like this.

We’re hoping to see Dubai Chocolate make its way into the parks at some point, since we’d love to try Disney’s version of the snack, but until then, we’ll continue to try all the other new desserts and items that land in the park. Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest food reviews around the parks!
