Disney4me
One of the nation’s most successful budget airlines is adding yet another route to and from Orlando International Airport (MCO). Orlando International Airport Breeze Airways is adding direct service between Orlando Airport and Key West, Florida. The service, which launches on June 12th, is going to be the only direct route between the two locations after fellow airline Silver Airways unexpectedly eliminated their service between Orlando Airport and Key West in March. Allegiant Air also offers a flight to Key West out of Orlando Sanford International Airport. Breeze transported 531,331 passengers through the Orlando Airport in 2024, making the airline the 12th-largest carrier at the airport by volume. The Key West route isn’t the only new Breeze flight coming to Orlando this year, as the airline will start service from Orlando to the Raleigh/Durham region in North Carolina on May 9th and to Greensboro/Winston-Salem, North Carolina on June 6th. ©Breeze Airways In a press release announcing the new routes, Breeze Airways Founder and CEO David Neeleman said Orlando Airport “has grown into one of our biggest bases in less than three years.” ©Tad Denson | Breeze Airways The new flights are due to start right around the time that Orlando Airport is anticipating a rise in traffic thanks to the opening of Universal’s massive Epic Universe theme park and hotel expansion, which is scheduled to culminate with the opening of the new park on May 22nd. ©Breeze Airways The ever-growing Breeze Airways is adding yet another route through Orlando International Airport, right in time for the opening of Central Florida’s newest theme park!
