Well, here we are, folks. Another day, another closure at Disney World — and this time, it’s permanent.

SAD

We’ve been dreading this day for a while, especially since the date of this attraction’s demise was officially announced. And, now that It’s Tough To Be a Bug is officially GONE from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, parts of this park look completely different — and those dreaded Disney World construction walls are back.

Oh no!

There are a couple of construction walls that have popped up around the area as well. One was right after you go through the old entrance, and the other one was deeper in the queue that you could see through a clearing in the trees. Of course, Disney had to go and put those pesky construction walls up in some areas — but that’s to be expected in situations like this!

We even spotted brand-new park maps that no longer list the attraction as an option.

The attraction will be replaced with a new Zootopia show named “Zootopia: Better Zoogether.” The show will open in the winter of 2025. No exact date has been announced for the opening of this new attraction.

Disney recently shared a behind-the-scenes look at “Zootopia: Better Zoogether” and we must say, we’re already getting excited! Check out Ginnifer Goodwin reprising her role as Officer Judy Hopps for the new show!

It is sad to see an opening day Animal Kingdom attraction close, but we are so excited to see what the new Zootopia show has to offer! Our fingers are crossed that it does not involve getting stung! We will miss the iconic bug glasses along with the inspired Broadway posters.

In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more updates from Animal Kingdom and the rest of Disney World. Make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news!
