The Longest Line at Epic Universe Is NOT for a Ride

Recommended Posts

Epic Universe may only be in previews to Universal Team Members and their guests at the moment, but there’s one surprise attraction at the park that looks to be a bonafide surprise hit!

Universal’s newest park, which is set to open to the public on May 22nd, is stocked with a veritable smorgasbord of new and technologically advanced attractions, including Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, Stardust Racers, Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, and Mine Cart Madness. However, during our preview experience in the park, the busiest line didn’t belong to a ride at all.

One of the busiest experiences during our preview visit (where photography was NOT allowed), and one we anticipate having a long wait time once the park opens, is the meet and greet with Hiccup and Toothless from the How To Train Your Dragon franchise.

Located in the park’s Isle of Berk portal, this meet and greet is situated in a recreation of the Haddock Paddock. The heavily themed experience had consistently large crowds throughout our whole preview visit, during which a team member said that the wait was between 35-45 minutes, which was longer than the majority of the park’s attractions (especially when taking technical downtimes out of the equation). We would think these wait times will be much longer once the park is open to the general public.

In addition to Hiccup and Toothless, the area will also feature other characters from the franchise. As Universal shared on their social media accounts, Astrid and Stormfly will also be appearing in the area and will likely draw long lines as well.

During Epic Universe previews, the How to Train Your Dragon meet and greet experience was one of the most in-demand attractions in the new park, and we think it may stay that way once the park opens to the public! Stay tuned to DFB for more coverage of Epic Universe as its opening moves closer!
