Disney4me
As much as we’d like to pretend that real life doesn’t exist when we’re at Disney World, it still goes on. ©Disney And, when you spend as much time in Disney World as we do, you get pretty used to having your emotions run the gamut. Let’s be real, we all need a good cry sometimes — whether it’s a sad cry or a happy cry — and if you happen to be in EPCOT when that cry comes on, well, these are the best places in EPCOT to do it. We listen and we don’t judge — and that includes if we see you sobbing in EPCOT. If you need a good cry, here’s where you should do it! The Seas Pavilion We love the Seas Pavilion for a long list of reasons — one of which is that it’s air-conditioned, which can make a huge difference when it comes to sensory overload during the summer seasons in this park. The second reason is that it’s pretty dark in here — which makes it an excellent place to break down into guttural sobs. Inside SeaBase Aquarium We specifically appreciate the smaller aquarium exhibits on the first floor — they tend to be a bit less crowded than the larger tanks upstairs. Just park yourself in a corner and have at it. Seas Pavilion The Morocco Pavilion The Morocco Pavilion is simply beautiful, which means you can always blame your tears on that if you’re in a pinch. But, there are a couple of places in this pavilion that might interest you should you need to pay a visit to the crybrary (it’s like a library but for crying). There’s always the Fez House located in the front left of the pavilion, which can sometimes be empty and thus a good place to shed a tear — but it can get echoey in there. Fez House Your other option is in the back of the pavilion, in the bazaar area. This spot isn’t in the air-conditioning, but there are plenty of tables and chairs in the shade — and sometimes a sangria cart is nearby, too, which has been scientifically proven to help stop tears (just kidding, I’m not a scientist so for legal reasons that was a joke). We love it back here! The Shanghai Disney Exhibit The Shanghai Disney exhibit located in the China Pavilion is another great spot for a cry since it’s often empty — and once again, air-conditioned. Look, if you’re going to cry, doing it in the AC is definitely a plus. Inside Shanghai Disney Resort The only problem with this spot is that if there is anyone in there, it can get a tad awkward because it’s pretty quiet in here and you won’t be able to drown out the sound of your sniffling. But, hey, who cares? Feel your feelings, pal. Spaceship Earth You’ll be thanking the Phoenicians for being able to read — and for providing you with a safe space to cry on Spaceship Earth. Plus, who doesn’t want the sounds of their sobs to be narrated by Dame Judi Dench? We know we’d certainly enjoy that. With her support, we can do anything. But, Spaceship Earth is also great for crying because it’s a long, dark ride, and you’ll probably break down at some point for even more crying opportunities. World Nature This EPCOT neighborhood is home to multiple nice spots for when you need to call the wah-mbulance. There’s a little bench edge on one of the big planters where you can sit and face the Land Pavilion across the water. Great for crying. If people see someone there, they don’t really walk over because the pathway is a little narrow and there’s nothing but water in front of you so nobody can see you are crying, but you still get to be in daylight and fresh air while looking at arguably the best EPCOT pavilion and while letting it all out. It’s also usually pretty shady there most of the day so you weren’t sitting in direct sunlight, baking while you sob. Te Fiti as seen in EPCOT’s Journey of Water At the end of the day, if you’ve gotta cry — doing it in Disney World doesn’t seem like the worst thing. You can always cheer yourself up by going to meet Mickey or grabbing your favorite snack and riding your favorite ride! In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more updates from EPCOT and the rest of Disney World.
