Check out Amorette’s Patisserie

Disney Springs at Disney World has so many good spots for tasty treats. We like to try all the food we can, so we can let you know what’s worth it and what to avoid. We recently went to Amorette’s Patisserie, and we wanted to share our thoughts with you.

Amorette’s Patisserie is celebrating Womans History Month with the Minnie Mouse Petit Cake! This cake is a vanilla chiffon cake with green tea-lemon syrup and berry mousse. This was a tasty cake, but we don’t think we would go out of our way for it again. Especially for its price of $22.

Minnie Mouse Cake

To start, it was a gorgeous-looking cake! We were quite impressed with how many layers were inside of it. The cake’s main flavors were lemon and raspberry with some green tea. The cake and fondant definitely had a vanilla flavor. The vanilla chiffon cake was light and fluffy, and you could really taste the lemon and raspberry in the syrup. We didn’t get much green tea flavor, but we feel like that’s a hard flavor to get — considering it would have to stand out amongst the raspberry and lemon.

Look at this pretty cake

There was a berry mousse layer between the cake — although we’re not sure we would really call it a mousse, it was more of a light jam consistency. Don’t get us wrong, it was tasty with the vanilla cake, but it just wasn’t very “moussey”.

So pretty

Our main complaint about this cake was the fondant. It was chewy and took away from the rest of the cake in our opinion. However, it did have a good thickness and wasn’t overly gummy (that’s it though). Against the fluffy, lightness of the cake, the fondant sticks out in the wrong way. It makes the cake look finished, but we ended up eating around it to really enjoy the cake.

We don’t hate this cake, but we probably wouldn’t get it again. Especially for it’s price of $22, which feels very steep.  If you make your way to Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs, maybe get something else! We’ll always be looking out for more snacks to review around Walt Disney World. Make sure to follow us at the Disney Food Blog for our reviews.
