Disney4me Posted April 4 Report Share Posted April 4 Going out to sea just got even more exciting! ©Norwegian Cruise Lines Disney Cruise Line knows a thing or two about cruising with new ships like the Disney Treasure and the Disney Adventure, but Norwegian Cruise Line is taking entertaining at sea to a whole new level! Check out how this cruise line is doing something unlike anything we’ve seen before! Norwegian Cruise Line is ready to make cruising a bit more thrilling! The cruise line’s newest thrill, the Aqua Slidecoaster, is a combination of a roller coaster and a water slide like we haven’t seen before. ©USA Today According to USA Today, the new attraction uses a robotic arm to push riders up onto a conveyor belt, where the attraction becomes a bit more refreshing thanks to the water. The ride is roughly 40 seconds long with both open and closed portions on the slide. ©USA Today This is the first coaster and waterslide hybrid attraction and is on board the cruise line’s newest ship, Norwegian Aqua! Traditionally, Norwegian has go-karts as a part of their onboard experiences, but on the new ship, those karts are being replaced by the slide. When discussing the choice to switch out the go-karts, Mark Kansley, Norwegian’s senior vice president of Hotel Operations, said, “We wanted something that had never been done before on ships.” You can see a video of the coaster in action here! View this post on Instagram The coaster launches guests up to 31 miles per hour and is one of several new activities on this ship. Just like other coasters, though, there are height and weight requirements for anyone looking to get in on the fun. The Norwegian Aqua’s maiden voyage launched on March 28th, 2025.
