We got a chance to check out Epic Universe before its official opening day (May 22nd). From the new attractions, restaurants, meet-and-greets, snacks, and merch, we almost don’t know where to start, but we are so excited about all of it! The Oak & Star Tavern is no exception. Here, you can gather with family or friends ’round the fiery hearth of an ancient, starlit-filled oak tree. This is a fast-casual restaurant with a breakfast and lunch menu, and this spot is known for its brisket. The Oak & Star Tavern Upon entering, guests are welcomed by a towering tree at the center of the space, with two black iron owls with glowing eyes perched overhead. The setting feels both grand and deeply connected to nature, blending elegance with an enchanted forest vibe. The Oak & Star Tavern We were treated to a banquet-style tasting of some of the restaurant’s menu highlights, so the presentation will differ from its exact offerings. The official menu will include dishes such as the Two Meats Platter with Spit Roasted Citrus Herb Chicken and Smoked St. Louis Ribs, Slow Smoked Brisket Sandwich, Platter with Mango Bread & Pickles, Grilled Peach Arugula, and Banana Pudding. Mango Bread And for dessert, we even got to try the Banana Pudding with a side of ice cream. Everything was pretty tasty and fresh, but the item that stood out the most to us was the Mango Bread. It was so unique and perfectly moist and fluffy with a slight stickiness to it. The Oak & Star Tavern also features a Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine where a special flavor, Celestial Spritz, is available to enjoy. Oak & Star Tavern totally hit the spot!
