Star Wars Nite guide and Badge

It is officially Season of the Force in Disneyland, and we’ve been enjoying all kinds of special entertainment, activities, and — more importantly — food. Well, we’ve also now been to the first EVER Star Wars Nite of the year, and that means we also got to try out some food EXCLUSIVE to that party. So let’s chat about it!

Star Wars Nite is a special ticketed after hours event in Disneyland that goes even further to celebrate all things Star Wars. That means there are also a few exclusive food items that you can only get at the event, so YOU KNOW we had to try them out. We started with the “Porg” Belly Sandwich from Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree — and don’t worry, no Porgs were harmed to create this snack. It’s actually pork belly on a bun with Arugula Salad, Heirloom Tomato, and Honey Sambal Sauce for $15.99.

“Porg” Belly Sandwich

This must be one of the best quick service sandwiches we’ve had! There are so many flavors here from the smoked pork belly to the spicy honey sambal sauce. It’s not super spicy, but we will warn you it has a little kick. The tomato and arugula offers a nice cold bite with the hot pork. The only thing we could complain about is that the arugula was soggy. The French fries are beer battered and our favorite in the park. This also makes a good sized meal.

All these flavors

Next up was the Wookiee Whoopie Pie for $7.99 at Galactic Grill. This is a Chocolate Whoopie Pie filled with Caramel Mousse, rolled in White, Dark, and Silver Crunch Pearls with Chocolate Belt Decoration. We’ll have to say…this was a very enjoyable treat. We were a little worried at first that the outsides would be dense, but it was nice and light.

The consistency is sort of like an ice cream sandwich, and we liked the crunch the pearls added. It’s also a nice lightly sweet snack — not overpoweringly sweet. It could also be shareable, but only if you want to. We wanted to eat the whole thing ALL BY OURSELVES.

A lovely treat!

So overall, both snacks we tried at Star Wars Nite were hits with us, so you’ll want to make time to eat during all that extra fun you can have at the party.

Stay tuned to DFB for more.
