Disney4me
Watching Happily Ever After to end your day at Magic Kingdom can be so magical! Happily Ever After Did you know that you could upgrade your fireworks viewing experience? While the Magic Kingdom hosts a variety of Firework Dessert Parties at Tomorrowland Terrace, you can get a private viewing experience from outside the park! It will cost you a pretty penny, but let me tell you, it is 100% worth it!! As an enchanting extra to your Disney World vacation, you can book a fireworks cruise through the My Disney Experience app or by calling (407) 939-7529. Bookings can be made 60 days in advance, and you can even put in celebration requests, as your pontoon boat can be decorated for your special day! You can choose a cruise to view Happily Ever After from the Magic Kingdom or Luminous “The Symphony of Us” from EPCOT. I recently took my fourth Magic Kingdom fireworks cruise (and have taken one EPCOT fireworks cruise), and although I have done it so many times, I will continue to do it again and again! Fireworks Cruise Boats Fireworks cruises start at $449 before tax, and each pontoon boat can seat up to 10 guests. So when you think about it, if you split it between your party, the price is not too steep, especially for a private and chartered cruise. When you book this experience, you will have a few options of hotel docks from which you can be picked up. For this cruise, we were picked up at the Contemporary at Boat Nook Marina. You can park at the hotel simply by having your reservation number readily available for the security guard at the gate. Remember to give yourself plenty of extra time to arrive before your sailing time, as Disney World transportation and traffic can be unpredictable. You should arrive no later than an hour and 15 minutes prior to the fireworks showtime. Boat Nook Marina When you check in, a Cast Member who will be your captain will guide you along the dock to board your pontoon boat. This Cast Member will be along for the entire ride, and it can be super fun to chat with them and learn about the history of Disney World! The price of your cruise includes bottled water, sodas, and snacks. Alcohol is allowed on board, just not in glasses or glass bottles. Before boarding your cruise, you can head to the Sand Bar right outside the marina to pick up a drink. SNACKS! Your snacks are placed on top of the cooler, which keeps your drinks cold. Your cruise also comes with sodas and water While the music for Happily Ever After does get piped in when it is showtime, you have the option to connect your phone to Bluetooth as you cruise around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon before the fireworks start. This cruise gives you an up-close look at some Disney history, like the abandoned Discovery Island. Pontoon Boat When it is time for the fireworks to start, the Cast Member will find a spot to “float” so you can get a view of the castle and the fireworks. Although you are outside of the park, you can still see some of the projections and get a great view of Tinker Bell as she takes flight during the end of the show. It is a great view! Depending on timing, you may get a close view of the Electrical Water Pageant (which is my favorite entertainment offering at Disney World). Make sure to tell the Cast Member captaining your boat that you would like to try to see it. It is not always guaranteed, but I have gotten to see the pageant on three out of the four Magic Kingdom fireworks cruises that I have taken. I was a Disney World Cast Member, and This Is How Many Times I Got To See the Fireworks While I Was Working Electrical Water Pageant Then, it is sadly time to head back to the marina. You are more than welcome to take home the extra drinks and snacks with you. As a pro tip, bring a plastic bag with you on board to take your bounty home. Although it is not required, tips are always appreciated as a thank you for the great service provided by the Cast Member who took you on your cruise. Views of Magic Kingdom from the water Seeing Disney fireworks from the water has always been spectacular. It is a great way to add a touch of Disney to your day without having to visit the parks. While it does come with a hefty price tag, when you break it down, the cruise is good for 10 guests, comes with snacks and drinks, includes a relaxing ride before the fireworks, and gives you a private view of the show. I will always recommend this experience and can’t wait until I get to sail again!
