Disney’s Animal Kingdom is an excellent park for those looking to have a more chill Disney day. It often doesn’t have the same crowds that your Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios have. Plus, Animal Kingdom has something that no other park has — you get to look at animals!

Animal Kingdom is currently undergoing one of the biggest transformations in the parks history, and Disney fans are patiently waiting for the changes coming to the park (we’re gonna have to wait a while). The good thing is that Animal Kingdom has so much more to offer than just it’s rides — as much as we love Flight of Passage! Well, we have some newcomers at the park — and you’re going to want to see these latest additions because they’re adorable!

Some new babies have been born in Disney World, and we can’t stop looking at their faces! These new baby otters have officially made their Animal Kingdom debut and we are SO HAPPY! You can see the baby otters with their parents, Kevin and Mae.

They were born back in December of 2024 and are still dependent on their parents. Mom and Dad are currently teaching them how to swim and how to simply be an otter!

Their names? Butternut, Biscuit, and Potato! They are Asian small-clawed otters, which are the smallest otter species. Fun fact, they are born with their eyes closed. Oh, and Disney, we NEED the lore on how these baby otters got their names ASAP!

You can find the baby otters at the Otter Grotto, where they are ready to take on the waters! We love these little ones, we could stare at them all day long!

Like we said, Animal Kingdom is in a transformation period! The “It’s Tough To Be A Bug” show recently closed, to make way for the new “Zootopia: Better Together” show. That was the last attraction themed to A Bug’s Life at any Disney Park, so fans were sad to see that go — but we look forward to what Zootopia will bring to the Tree of Life. The new attraction will open in the winter this year.

The biggest change happening at Animal Kingdom is the addition of the new land, Pueblo Esperanza, which is taking over the previous Dinoland U.S.A. This new land is going to include attractions themed to both Disney Animations Encanto, as well as the iconic Indiana Jones. The land will also have a carousel themed to some of our favorite Disney animal characters.

We won’t be seeing the new stuff at Animal Kingdom for a while, so enjoy the new baby otters in the meantime. Hey, we aren’t complaining! Animal Kingdom is always getting new baby animals, and their adorable faces always draw a crowd. We’ll be sure to be on the lookout for any more baby animal news!
