We’ve got not-so-great news coming out of Disneyland Resort.

“it’s a small world” under refurbishment

One of the most iconic attractions in the park, “it’s a small world” has been closed for refurbishment since the holiday edition of the ride was open for the holiday season at the end of 2024. Previously, the attraction was slated to reopen at the end of this month, but Disney has just announced that opening date has been pushed back.

Now, instead of reopening on April 25th, ‘it’s a small world’ will reopen on May 9th.

However, we are excited to see that the new Coco scene will still be added to the attraction when it reopens! This new scene will feature Miguel and his trusted alebrije, Dante, as they join the other kids in song.

Additionally, Disney announced a few months ago that a new verse of the beloved “it’s a small world” song would be added to the attraction on July 17th! This new, third verse was written by Richard M. Sherman “in his final Disney contribution” and goes like this:

“Mother Earth unites us in heart and mind

And the love we give makes us humankind

Through our vast wondrous land

When we stand hand in hand

It’s a small world after all.”

While we’re bummed we have to wait a few extra weeks for this attraction to open, we’re looking forward to seeing it when it’s complete!
