Epic Universe

Epic Universe is packed with jaw-dropping rides, mind-blowing lands, and all kinds of immersive details that hit you right in the theme park-loving soul. But even with all our research and park know-how, there were still a few things we wish we’d caught before we walked out those exit gates. So, here’s your friendly heads-up — don’t make the same mistakes we did!

Walking Away From the Fountain Show Too Soon

If you catch the fountain show in Celestial Park, you’ll probably be impressed. The fountains put on a big dramatic finish — and then… pause.

At this point, it feels like the show is over. A bunch of people will even start walking away. Don’t be one of them! That pause? It’s just a breather. Give it another minute or two and the show ramps back up with new effects, lighting, and all. It’s like a second act that’s way too easy to miss if you’re not paying attention. Stay for the whole thing. Trust us — it’s one of those hidden gems that ends up being a trip highlight if you let it.

Not Looking for the Pikmin in Super Nintendo World

Super Nintendo World is already a sensory overload in the best way possible — giant spinning coins, interactive blocks, moving characters, and wild rides everywhere you turn. But in the middle of all that chaos are some of the tiniest, most adorable details that most people totally miss… and we’re talking about the Pikmin.

Yes, those tiny plant creatures from Nintendo’s Pikmin series are everywhere if you know where to look. They’re tucked into wall artwork, peeking out from the grass, and even hidden in the queues for rides like Yoshi’s Adventure and Mario Kart. They’re small, they don’t move, and they’re super easy to overlook unless you’re specifically searching for them. So next time you’re in the land, slow down a little, scan your surroundings, and play a real-life version of “Where’s Pikmin?” It’s a fun little scavenger hunt that adds another layer of charm to the land.

Skipping Cassandra in the Ministry of Magic

We were so hyped to explore the Ministry of Magic section of the Wizarding World, we almost missed one of the coolest interactive elements in the park. Tucked in a window near Le Goblet Noir (yes, we see what they did there) is a witch named Cassandra — and you need to go visit her.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic

Cassandra isn’t just a statue or some pre-recorded animatronic. She talks to you in real time. Like the Mystic Fountain over in Islands of Adventure, she’s interactive, reacts to what you say, and comments on how you look or what you’re wearing. She’s part of the wand experiences, but you don’t need to do a spell to have a conversation. The portraits around her window also chime in, making the whole scene feel alive. It’s a moment of theme park magic that’s totally worth going out of your way to find.

Honorable Mention: Keep Your Eyes Peeled for Universal Easter Eggs

While you’re walking around the park, keep your movie radar on. Epic Universe is loaded with nods to iconic Universal films — some obvious, some very subtle. Our favorite so far has to be the flux capacitor on the back of the Stardust Racers trains. Back to the Future fans, you’re gonna want a close look.

At the end of the day, Epic Universe isn’t just about the big flashy rides and lands — it’s about the small, smart details that Universal’s hidden all over the place. So if you’re planning your visit, make some room in your schedule for the quieter, blink-and-you-miss-it moments. You might just leave with a few favorite memories that aren’t even on the map.

We’ll be covering even MORE Epic Universe stuff, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
