Disney4me
Flame Tree Barbecue is a definite fan favorite among Counter Service options at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The name gives you a pretty good idea of the main attraction here. From ribs to pulled pork, barbecue is the headliner. Typically, you can also find Fruit Plates and some downright fantastic onion rings, among other items. And Flame Tree Barbecue has also become home to Jumbo Turkey Legs at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The yummy eats, decent variety, and gorgeous outdoor seating areas make Flame Tree Barbecue a popular dining location. But for approximately the next three months, this well-loved restaurant is undergoing a refurbishment.Flame Tree Barbecue closed for refurbishmentPlanning a visit to Animal Kingdom during this time frame? You may be glad to know that you can still find several Flame Tree eats around the park. And we’re here to tell you where to find them… Here we go!Discovery Island’s Beastly Kiosk and the Gardens Kiosk — widely referred to as the “Allergy Kiosk†— are both carrying the same Flame Tree items: a 1/2 Slab of St. Louis Ribs, the Rib and Chicken Combo, and the 1/2 Chicken, as well as the Baked Drumstick Kids’ Meal. In fact, for now you can still carry your items to the Flame Tree Barbecue seating area from these locations.Flame Tree Barbecue seatingDinoland U.S.A.’s Trilo-Bites is where you can now find the Jumbo Turkey Leg and a Barbecue Chicken Salad. This is a homecoming of sorts forthe Turkey Legs, since Trilo-Bites used to be the main location to find them in Animal Kingdom before they moved to Flame Tree.Trilo-BitesTrilo-Bites temporary menuTurkey Leg at Disney — Up CloseFacing Trilo-Bites, you’ll spot a temporary cart to the right, where the Pulled Pork Sandwich is being sold.Cart near Trilo-Bites on the rightPulled Pork Sandwich signPulled Pork Sandwich at Flame TreeThe redistribution of these items has created a domino effect for the snacks typically carried in these alternate locations. For instance, since the Gardens/Allergy Kiosk is now serving Flame Tree foods, this allergy info and snacks kiosk is now located at what is typically Discovery Island Ice Cream, found just outside of the gates to Africa coming from Discovery Island.Temporary Allergy-friendly kioskLocation shot of temporary Allergy-friendly kiosk locationAllergy-friendly kiosk menuPackaged snacks at Allergy-friendly kioskA note: at this time, it’s anticipated that the Gardens/Allergy Kiosk will move back to its original spot near Flame Tree upon completion of the refurbishment, and Discovery Island Ice Cream will return to its regular menu as well.Wondering where you can get your Bugs Sundae or hand-scooped ice cream while Discovery Island Ice Cream serves as the allergy kiosk? You can find them at Dino-Bite Snacks in Dinoland, U.S.A.Dino-Bite SnacksDino-Bite Snacks MenuOh, and those Mickey Pretzels and Jalapeño Pretzels that you can normally get at the Beastly Kiosk are still available at the Harambe Fruit Market in Africa as well as the Isle of Java.Which brings us to our final relocation, though this one doesn’t stem from the Flame Tree Barbecue refurbishments: the Isle of Java kiosk, previously located not too far from the park entrance, has been relocated outside the entrance to Dinoland, U.S.A. coming from Discovery Island in order to accommodate further Animal Kingdom construction.Isle of Java to the left of Dinoland gatesNew Isle of Java locationFormer location of Isle of JavaWhile it’s not a major dining destination, Isle of Java is an easy spot to grab a cuppa joe, and has the bonus of being the other location aside from Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery to grab a Cotton Top Tamarin Cupcake.
