Last week, I shared with you some of our brand-new Port Adventures coming to Juneau during this summer’s Alaska sailings. Today, I’m excited to tell you about ways your family can experience Skagway’s great outdoors with Port Adventures new for this summer.

Nature-lovers will find breathtaking views at every turn on the Skagway Adventure Hike, trekking through the alpine forest and snow-capped mountains of White Pass. In the Alpine Lake Canoe Adventure on Summit Lake, panoramic views of Alaska’s most enchanting scenery include towering mountains, lush green forests and crystal-clear water.

Klondike Campfire Breakfast

Cooked up exclusively for Disney cruisers is the mouthwatering Klondike Campfire Breakfast at Liarsville Gold Rush Trail Camp. This is a great way to start your day. Who wouldn’t want to kick off their fun with a meal of steak, eggs and sourdough blueberry pancakes? After savoring breakfast, you’ll pan for gold, with everyone guaranteed to find the precious metal in every pan.

Klondike Family Challenge

If your family is more on the competitive side, you’re going to love Skagway’s new Klondike Family Challenge, where you’ll pan for gold, interact with dogs training for sled dog races and tour a brewery, among other experiences. Each part of this Port Adventure includes some friendly competition with other families, like seeing who can pan the most gold or who can pan the fastest. No matter who wins, at the end of the day each family gets to leave their mark by etching their names onto a wooden plank to be hung on the wall at the Klondike Gold Fields.

These new experiences join a spectacular collection of Port Adventures for Alaska, from exploring glaciers and whale watching to a high-energy lumberjack show and exciting crab fishing tour. What’s on your family’s can’t-miss list?
