So, you’ve heard us mention Food Trucks quite a few times here on the DFB, and typically we’re referring to the four Disney Food Trucks most often found at Exposition Park in Downtown Disney’s West Side (though we’ve also had the chance to visit the Truckeria Rolling Taco Truck when it has appeared on occasion).

Well, today we’re visiting four more Food Trucks… but they’re not the ones you’re accustomed to seeing (like Fantasy Fare or Namaste Cafe), nor are they in the place you’re used to hearing them mentioned. Nope… we’re excited to bring you news of the Food Trucks that can currently be found on the weekends at the Causeway of Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resorts!

Swan and Dolphin Causeway

I say “currently” because — as is pretty common for food trucks of any sort — schedules (as well as locations –what with being mobile and all ;) ) are apt to change. And these food trucks are actually in a testing phase as well. So while we’ll list some info about hours and availability with every truck below, please note that

everything regarding availability is subject to change.

And with that out of the way :), let’s take a walk along the Causeway!

On our visit, we headed towards the pool and found Java’s Coffees and Sweets in the basketball court area. It’s currently operating on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 to 10 pm (great news for those needing a caffeine kick long after the Java Bar inside the Swan is closed).

If you’ve ever visited the Java Bar, the truck’s menu consisting of espresso beverages (served hot or iced) and a few sweet snacks will look very familiar to you. The only addition to the menu is the Italian Ice Push Pop, offering a cold blast of cherry, strawberry, mango, or lemon on a sweltering day.

Next up? The one and only Juan and Only! During our visit, Juan and Only was located right at the entrance to the Swan Resort from the Causeway.

The cute pepper lights around the window make this one easy to spot during its current nighttime hours of 8 – 11:30 pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

The specialty is Mexican fare, featuring tacos, nachos, and margaritas along with a few other cold beverages.

Now, really… when have you ever known us to pass up a margarita?

They are prepared here on the rocks (and of course can be made with or without salt on the rim). And, I gotta say, the use of Cointreau — and the fact that they use fresh lime juice — is a pretty sweet upgrade!

Tacos are ordered in a “build your own” fashion with the choice of chicken, pork or beef on soft flour tortillas along with your selected toppings.

Naturally, we went with every topping in the house… I mean, truck ;). You can also mix and match the meats, so we went with one Adobo Chicken and one Shredded Beef. These babies came packed to the brim, served with a side of chips and pico de gallo.

The organic chicken adobo seasoning provided some great flavor, while the beef was super tender and juicy.

Nachos are also made-to-order with your choice of the chicken, pork, or beef. You’ll read on the menu that they are prepared with pico de gallo, jalapeños and nacho cheese. Since everything is made fresh, though, feel free to ask for them to be customized to your liking.

Here’s our heaping platter of Pork Nachos, another appealingly fresh choice. What’s cool here is the layering of the nachos, with the chips on the bottom receiving garnishes of their own, as opposed to everything in one layer on the top. And check out that beautiful Plastic Cheese, since we won’t be seeing the likes of that as much in other areas around Disney World.

A little further stroll down the Causeway brought us to our final two trucks, starting with American Dreams.

Currently open on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30-4:00 pm, the all-American menu features an assortment of hot dogs, burgers, kebabs, and beverages, and even includes a few craft beers.

And finally, we arrive at The Oasis. Its focus on frozen drinks, beer, and caipirinhas was a natural fit parked right by the pool.

The seating nearby was limited to lounge chairs, but you can’t really argue with a pool view.

Frozen Drinks choices include Pina Coladas and Strawberry or Mango Daquiris. But since nothin’ says “pool time” quite like a Pina Colada

The Oasis Pina Colada

It was simply delicious; creamy and thick with a strong emphasis on the rum and coconut.

For the Caipirinha, we went with the Caipiroska thanks to a recommendation: a popular Brazilian drink made with lime, sugar and muddled strawberries… oh, and some vodka ;).

I loved the fresh strawberries throughout the drink, as well as the strength of the beverage. A lovely summer sip, indeed!

Again, we’re not exactly sure what the future holds for the Swan and Dolphin Food Trucks, currently in testing phase. But it’s so-far-so-good on the Causeway, and we hope we’ll be seeing them much more often in the future!
