Disney4me
Labor Day weekend is behind us and summer is over, unofficially, at least! Of course that means we’re starting to think about … Christmas? Though it may seem early, here at Downtown Disney, we’ve already started our holiday planning. This season, our transformation to Disney Springs will be in full effect and our holiday offerings will be updated to be more reflective of our new name. “Holidays at Disney Springs” will include plenty of familiar favorites. Toy Solider stilt walkers, Snowflake performers, a Kwanza Celebration, Hanukkah medleys, enhanced holiday entertainment, specialty foods and festive décor will return. Santa will be back—this year in a new location across from Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop—which creates a perfect opportunity to savor a rich hot chocolate while you’re waiting to meet him. The best part? Just like last season, guests will be able to pick up a pager upon check-in to secure their place in a virtual queue line. (And as I found out last year, less time in line means more time for, well, everything else!)New additions will offer something fun for everyone. I’m most excited about the holiday backdrops that will be coming to the Marketplace and West Side; made to look like pop-up greeting cards, they’ll be the perfect place to pose for family photos. And three new unique-to-Disney-Springs holiday trees will make their debut this season. According to Entertainment Show Director, Tom Vazzana, “Every corner of Disney Springs has new decorations that will fill your spirit, and your camera, with holiday memories.”Look for holiday touches to start appearing on property in mid-November. In the meantime, I’d suggest you start your shopping now at Downtown Disney because I’ve got a feeling the next fifteen weeks will fly by!‘Holidays at Disney Springs’ Will Offer Familiar Favorites and Festive New Fun by Darcy Clark: Originally posted on the Disney Parks BlogView the full article
