Disney4me
New York City is always one of my favorite places to visit. But I have to say, seeing “The Big Apple” with Adventures by Disney is by far my favorite way to explore this iconic city.I truly had no idea what a treat I was in for when I set off on this 4-day, 3-night Long Weekend trip. I’ve been to Manhattan many times and, while I knew there was still a seemingly endless amount of things that I had yet to uncover, this adventure opened my eyes to some experiences I couldn’t have even imagined.Case in point – the private Adventures by Disney experience at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. Here we stepped inside restored apartments from several different time periods. In each apartment we met costumed interpreters who played the part of past residents in the building, sharing with us their authentic life story (as learned from research about the actual families who lived there). It was a moving experience I’ll never forget. After visiting the tenements, our group delighted in a meal of small plates prepared by local eateries. These culinary treats represented the foods eaten by immigrants who have come to the area. While everything was delicious, it also provided many in our group with the opportunity to sample something they would be hesitant to order off a menu otherwise (the pickled pineapple was a personal favorite of mine). We also got to spend a very good morning at “Good Morning America.” Sure, you might start every day by watching this popular ABC show, but how often do you get to watch it live inside the Disney’s Times Square Studios in New York? Our group got to do just that! And I even got to go back into the control booth. It was a morning I’ll never forget. But all this was just the beginning! Stay tuned for my next post where I cut a rug, channel my inner Ariel and explore more of New York City with Adventures by Disney!
