Disney4me
Happy Holidays form Disney World! The trees are up. The lights are lit. And even Disney coffee is getting a festive makeover! In fact, the Joffrey’s Espresso & Pastries kiosks found all over Disney World property now have their 2015 Winter Specialty Drinks available.Rudolph’s Favorite at Joffrey’s Espresso & PastriesWhether you know them by their proper name or not, you’ve likely strolled by many a Joffrey’s kiosk at Disney World. They are typically themed so well to their surroundings that you may not take notice of them (you can take a tour of several of the kiosks by clicking here). But it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled, since the theming of some of the beverages themselves changes with the seasons.Taking in all the extra sights, sounds, and tastes that are part of the Holidays Around the World celebration at Epcot can require an extra energy boost, so I stopped by one of the Joffrey’s kiosks in the World Showcase for a pick-me-up.No matter which kiosk you stop by, the drink menu always features a variety of espresso-based drinks including lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas as well as tea and hot chocolate. Select Joffrey’s locations also offer opportunities to “spike” your coffee with your choice of Bailey’s, Kahlua, or Jameson.Menu at Joffrey’s Espresso & PastriesAll drinks are available hot or iced, which is great to know considering the up-and-down Florida weather around this time of year. The kiosks are home to, of course, HUGE donuts, along with other pastry choices.Big ol’ Donut To Go With Your Cup o’ JoeBut back to the sips… while the kiosks are currently featuring Winter Specialties, they offer seasonal variations throughout the year (coconut options seem pretty popular during the summer). From what I’ve seen, they tend to offer something unique to the typical flavored options that you see at most stores this time of year.Winter Specialties MenuThey’ve got the classic Peppermint Mocha Latte made with dark chocolate (yum!) on the menu, but the two “funner” options are crafted with while chocolate: Rudolph’s Favorite with gingerbread, and Santa’s Delight with cinnamon.Barista Preparing the EspressoAll of the winter specialty drinks are served in a 16 ounce cup and come with steamed milk (or cold, for the iced versions), and two shots of espresso. They’re topped off with whipped cream.Whipped Cream!Being a lover of all things gingerbread, I had to go with Rudolph’s Favorite!Rudolph’s FavoriteI thought I had tried every holiday drink combo out there, but I’d never thought to combine gingerbread and white chocolate. The creamy white chocolate doesn’t completely overtake the gingerbread, so you still get that slight hint of festive spiciness throughout the drink. The espresso was rich as always.Whipped Cream On Rudolph’s FavoriteIn my opinion, the holiday drinks at Joffrey’s offer a nice and relatively unique selection for those craving a sweet seasonal drink (and a caffeine boost) — a perfect compliment to your walk around the park enjoying the yuletide scenery and atmosphere.Enjoying The View And Rudolph’s Favorite! We’ll have more from the holiday festivities at Epcot soon… so stay tuned!
