Head on over to the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square for some Candy Cane Beignets!Holiday Specials at The Mint Julep BarBeignets are always a good decision, and Candy Cane flavored ones are an excellent decision.Candy Cane BeignetsBeignets are sold in 3 ($4.49) or 6 ($7.49) piece bags. The donut-like pastries are served up piping hot, covered in powdered sugar. You’ll notice immediately that the powdered sugar has a pink tint to it. That’s because it has crushed candy cane pieces mixed right in. You’ll also notice that the beignet below has a rainbow on it! This was just a lucky mistake. We happened to have a crystal glass sitting next to it and the sunlight hit it just right!Candy Cane Mickey BeignetThe peppermint flavor in the powdered sugar is subtle, but you most definitely can taste it. I think I enjoyed this seasonal beignet more than the pumpkin one from Halloween Time. Here’s a close up where you can see the crushed candy cane flecks.Candy Cane Beignet Close UpIf you’re a beignet pro, you’ll know why I tore up the bag…. If not, my secret is out!
