Disney4me
This year marks the 10th Anniversary since the first Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique opened at Disney Springs Marketplace. For the past 10 years, a team of Fairy Godmothers-in-training have turned thousands of guests ages 3-12 into Disney princesses at this enchanted beauty salon. In early 2015, my fellow author Darcy Clark shared a great recap of her niece Harper’s magical transformation. Did you know the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique also offers a makeover experience for brave knights? Here’s what I discovered when I booked an appointment for my son Athan. We arrived at the location around 9:00 for our scheduled appointment. Upon checking in, Athan was greeted by Ines Lucas, his Fairy Godmother-in-training. She was part of the opening team for the original Boutique in 2006, so I knew we were in for a special experience. We selected the Knight Package, which included hairstyling with gel; a mighty sword and shield; and confetti. We added a Royal Knight costume t-shirt with detachable cape to the package (it’s sold separately). How I wish there was an adult version! Ines led Athan to a specially designed seat and began the experience by adding some “jellyfish gel” to help style his hair. After styling, she asked Athan to close his eyes and make a wish while she waved her magic wand full of pixie dust. Then it was time for the presentation of the sword and shield. This ceremony was quickly followed by a turn of his chair to reveal his new regal look. While the experience took only a matter of moments, I was thankful for how special Ines made my son feel. I know he had fun as he wore his shirt and hairstyle for the rest of that day.Reservations are recommended for the Knight Package or other makeover experiences at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Appointments can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-STYLE (407-939-7895).A Knightly Transformation at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney Springs Marketplace by Steven Miller: Originally posted on the Disney Parks BlogView the full article
