Diamond Celebration Inspiration: ‘Disneyland Forever’ Fireworks at Disneyland Park

Last week, we brought you the first installment of our interview with Steve Davison, Vice President of Parades and Spectaculars at Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment, revealing the inspirations behind the three dazzling nighttime spectaculars featured during the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration. Today, I’m pleased to share more of this interview with you, and this time we focus on “Disneyland Forever” fireworks.

What is the story you are telling with this fireworks spectacular?

Steve: That anything is possible if you believe and follow your dreams, just like Walt Disney!

The orange grove scene at the beginning of the show is particularly touching. Were there any particular visuals or historical footage that inspired this moment?

Steve: We loved the footage of Walt walking through the Anaheim fields, dreaming of what could be. It was our inspiration to show how it all started … a man with a dream and how that dream became a reality.

The use of light, projections and lasers make this show truly immersive. What was your inspiration when developing these new elements?

Steve: We wanted the show to explode with color and light all around our guests … to completely envelope them in the story and make them feel a part of it.
