Volunteers Build Seventh Disney-Sponsored KaBOOM! Playground in Anaheim

On Saturday, I joined more than 200 volunteers from Anaheim, KaBOOM! and the Anaheim Family YMCA to bring the seventh Disney-sponsored KaBOOM! playground in Anaheim to Lincoln Park – in fewer than eight hours!

Disney VoluntEARS from the Disneyland Resort helped install brightly colored playground equipment that will serve more than 1,200 Anaheim children. The new playground was designed using children’s drawings, and features slides, a swing set and a “spinami” that children can whirl around on. We also helped plant trees donated by the Disneyland Resort, paint trashcans and build benches.

To date, Disney has sponsored more than 68 KaBOOM! playgrounds nationwide to give children a play-filled childhood and create healthier generations. You may remember that we built the 60th playground at Twila Reid Park in Anaheim in honor of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration.
