Disney4me
Guests of all ages have come to love and appreciate one of the icons of Disneyland park, the Matterhorn mountain, whose slopes are magically covered with snow every day of the year. I’ve admired the mountain’s splendor even before I started my career with Disney. I remember visiting Disneyland as a teenager in the 1960s, when I overheard a woman who was admiring the snow-covered Matterhorn telling her friend, “Isn’t it amazing how Mr. Disney keeps snow on the Matterhorn all year long?” Without hesitating, her friend replied, “Yes, it sure is!” This story is one of the reasons I love my job as a photographer here. On many occasions I have overhead similar conversations from guests who see the wonders of Disneyland through the eyes of a child, no matter what age they are. With the anniversary of the Matterhorn Bobsleds’ opening coming up June 14, it’s my pleasure to share three of my favorite photos of the Matterhorn with you.
