Pittsburgh Football Player’s Inspiring Story Earns Him The Disney Sports Spirit Award

Every year we present the Disney Sports Spirit Award to college football’s most inspirational figure, and every year it seems the winner’s story can’t possibly be any more inspiring than the one from the year before.

And then it is.

This year is no different. On Dec. 8 during ESPN’s live telecast of The Home Depot College Football Awards show in Atlanta, we will proudly present the award to University of Pittsburgh football player James Conner, who overcame cancer to return to football stardom this season.
