Behind the Scenes of ‘Hurry Home – Lunar New Year Celebration’ at Disney California Adventure Park

Each night, as part of our expanded Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure park, you can enjoy a special show just before performances of “World of Color.” Entitled “Hurry Home,” this six-minute tale follows the journey of a Little Lantern returning home for the annual celebration of good luck and fortune.

One of the most wonderful aspects of “Hurry Home” is the musical score. It’s an all-new arrangement of a piece created by Academy Award-winning composer Tan Dun (“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”) for the grand opening ceremonies at Shanghai Disney Resort. In this video, Matt Walker, head of the Music Studio at Walt Disney Imagineering, gives us a look behind the scenes of the music recording session for “Hurry Home,” featuring a group of master musicians and authentic instrumentation.
