News and Review: The Jungle Julep at Bengal Barbecue in Disneyland

Recommended Posts

Bengal Barbecue is one of our favorite places to pick up a quick and hearty snack in Disneyland. You already know that we can’t get enough of their meat and veggie skewers.

And it’s true: they put just about anything on a stick, with fun names like the Banyan Beef Skewer and the Safari Skewer. (Though we can never resist their stick-free signature, the Tiger Tail).

Today, though, we’re paying our tiger pal a visit for a sip, because there’s A NEW DRINK. And you know our girl Heather Sievers (@DiningInDisney) was all over it. She was totally there, like, 50 times trying to get it and they were always out…or it wasn’t available…or something. BUT SHE GOT IT FINALLY!!!

Allow us to introduce the Jungle Julep.

Though “Julep” would typically indicate the presence of bourbon, there is none here to be had. (Remember, we’re in Disneyland, so the only place to imbibe in this otherwise dry park is the exclusive Club 33). Nope. The Jungle Julep is instead a frozen, fruity, sweet-and-tart combo of Pineapple, Orange, Lemon, and Grape flavors.

Sooo, basically a tropical vacation in a cup… or maybe it’s the fun garnishes that make it feel that way! The teeny tiny umbrella and orange slice are your standard drink-this-on-a-beach pretties, but the addition of what is (almost!) certainly a pineapple leaf provides a fun color contrast. This guy super liked it.

Taken altogether, the citrus and pineapple juices tame some of the syrupy sweetness of the grape, while retaining that colorful hue and unique flavor. Overall, the Jungle Julep earns two paws up!

Will you be visiting Bengal Barbecue for a Jungle Julep? What else do you love to get at Bengal?!
