Disney4me Posted June 30, 2017 Report Share Posted June 30, 2017 We all know that Walt Disney is famous for saying “If you can dream it, you can do it.’’ That sentiment is at the heart of our Disney Dreamers Academy program, and for the 11th straight year we are inviting high school students nationwide to come to Walt Disney World Resort to dream a little bigger. Applications are being accepted now for the 2018 Disney Dreamers Academy with Steve Harvey and ESSENCE magazine, the one-of-a-kind mentoring program that is helping to inspire young minds from across the country by fueling their dreams and showing them a world of possibilities as they prepare for the future. Similar to the past 10 years, the 100 selected students will receive an all-expense paid trip to Walt Disney World Resort where they will participate in immersive career workshops, ranging from animation to zoology. Each student is taught important skills, such as communication techniques, leadership qualities and networking strategies, and are inspired by celebrity speakers and special guests who share their success stories and provide insight on how to reach for the stars. And the program is making a tangible difference as evidenced by the many former participants who’ve gone on to pursue careers as authors, pilots, doctors, entrepreneurs, journalists and engineers, and even work at Disney.
