Behind The Scenes: Watch As Disney Photographers Capture the 2017 Solar Eclipse

When the Disney Parks Blog team first heard about the rare solar eclipse that would sweep across the United States this week, we immediately reached out to our photography team in the hopes of getting some great shots of this celestial moment from inside Walt Disney World Resort.

On a normal day, our parks are overflowing with great photo opportunities – we have castles, mountains, characters, not to mention an endless flow of smiling families. But this eclipse? The team knew they had one chance to get it, and dove into planning by scouting in the parks, using apps and other technology to determine the best angles to shoot from.

Producer Paul Chase happened to catch on to the team’s excitement and followed them to the park to document the emotional moment when the photographers finally got their shots, surrounded by hundreds of amazed guests. Check out the video above to see for yourself.
