When awesome Disney food just isn’t enough, the mad scientists of the DisneyFoodBlog world get to work. And what results is pure Disney (food) magic: Disney FrankenFoods.

FrankenFoods come alive when we mix and match some of our favorite Disney Parks foods, creating new combinations (and possibly opening portals in the universe of food… no one knows for sure). All we know is that it’s fun (and usually delicious).

Our good friend Heather Sievers of @DiningInDisney fame recently embarked on a quest to build a Fried Banana Sundae. Here’s how she did it.

Heather started this FrankenFoods journey at Award Wieners in Hollywood Land in Disney California Adventure.

From their menu of yummy hot dogs and sausages she ordered Banana Corn Dogs.

These deep fried chunks of cornmeal-battered bananas are a winner on their own, but it was time to FrankenFood-ify them.  So Heather headed over to Clarabelle’s Ice Cream on Buena Vista Street. Here she ordered the Oswald Sundae in a clever waffle bowl.

The Oswald Sundae features two scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, chocolate chips, a cherry, and a chocolate-dipped banana. When she added the deep fried banana corn dogs to the the Oswald Sundae, a Disney FrankenFood was born: the Fried Banana Sundae.

What’s so great about this concoction is that it features two kinds of bananas — the solid chocolate dipped ones in the sundae and the warm, gooey fried ones. As you can see, it sort of doesn’t all fit in the bowl.

But who cares?! It’s a delicious mess! And since the Banana Corn Dogs come with raspberry and mango dipping sauces, you can Frank it up even more. Heather added some of the fruity sauces to the sundae and managed to save enough to dunk her frozen bananas as well!

Seriously, we can’t be more excited about this. It’s a dynamite combination of sweet ice cream, tropical bananas, and tart fruits, plus you’ve got a little hot/cold action going on. It’s everything we dream that FrankenFoods can be.

Don’t mind us while we find more of these unusual food mashups. We’ll be sure to tell you all about them!

But give us a holler in the comments below if you have a food mashup you’ve tried (or are dying to try!).
