Disney4me
I love all of the larger-than-life Gingerbread Displays around Disney World during the Holiday Season. You know this. But I must confess… I’ve got a favorite. It’s just not the Holidays until I see (and sniff!) the Gingerbread Carousel at Disney’s Beach Club Resort! That’s why it’s especially good news that it is now up and spinning for guests visiting the Beach Club! Gingerbread Carousel One of the reasons I love the Gingerbread Carousel so much is that it’s new every year. The theme last year, for instance, was the Fab Five, with horses for Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. (As man’s and mouse’s best friend, Pluto got his own display placed just outside of the Carousel). And for 2017, the Carousel is themed with Lilo and Stitch! Lilo Next to the Carousel Right next to Lilo is Lillikoi. Lillikoi Details on Lillikoi And Project 626 himself is on hand causing mischief. Stitch! If you look carefully way up to the top of the carousel, you’ll even spy Lilo’s funky toy, Scrump! Top of the Gingerbread Carousel The real stars of the carousel, though, are the gorgeous horses! Each is individually themed and named. Meet Dutchess, Compass, Fleur, and Carol! Duchess Compass Fleur Carol Look at the mittens on Carol’s back! And Fleur’s braids! Compass’ tufted saddle! Duchess’ curly hair! Compass It’s all so beautifully done. Fleur And you can read all the ingredients it takes to make it happen at the Carousel, too. Gingerbread Carousel Ingredients Gingerbread Treats Unlike most of the Gingerbread Displays around Disney World which sell treats directly next to the display (or directly INSIDE OF, in the case of the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House!), the Carousel takes up enough space in the Beach Club’s lobby that the treats are located in the Beach Club Marketplace instead. As of yet, there’s only one unit of treats. Marketplace Gingerbread Treats Kinda disappointing, we know. But you can still snag a Gingerbread Shingle here! Gingerbread Shingle And while you’re hanging out at the Yacht and Beach Club anyway, you might as well check out the newly opened Ale & Compass Restaurant or Ale & Compass Lounge!
