Have a hankerin’ for a Jumbo Turkey Leg while you’re at Pixar Pier? Then just look for this GIANT FUN MEAL…

Poultry Palace

Poultry Palace

… by the name of Poultry Palace!

We’re continuing our reviews of each new food kiosk on the brand new Pixar Pier. (You can see every single stop along Disney California Adventure’s newest Land here.) You’ll find Poultry Palace on Toy Story Boardwalk — one of the land’s four neighborhoods inspired by the films and characters of Pixar. In the case of Poultry Palace, inspiration comes from the Pixar short “Toy Story Toon: Small Fry.” And this kiosk also happens to be a terrific photo op… (FYI, fun size Zurg is supposed to be the “toy” in the fun meal, but it seems he hasn’t arrived, yet.)

And it delivers an absolute Disney classic along with some new items all its own. The prime poultry in the palace is, of course, Jumbo Smoked Turkey Legs.

A Chicken Drumstick Box is also up for grabs as well as Corn on the Cob in your choice of classic buttered or chili-lime.

Since we’ve had more than a few Turkey Legs in our day, we went for the new item: the Chicken Drumstick Box.

It’s comes complete with coleslaw, all presented in my new favorite packaging in all of Disneyland Resort!

The trio of seasoned drumsticks is totally sharable.

And I think our Disneyland Correspondent, Heather Sievers (@diningindisney on Instagram) described it best when she said that the drumsticks “reminded me of Shake ’n Bake.”

Or, to put it another way… they’re okay. But that’s about all they are — just okay, but nothing special. I wouldn’t go out of my way again to get these, with much better options directly in the vicinity.

The coleslaw is, of course, fairly standard (though I liked that it wasn’t sopping in dressing), and a natural accompaniment.

But your other choice to enjoy along with your poultry — or simply on its own — is Corn on the Cob in either Chili-Lime or Buttered.

We went with the classic since it just always goes so well with chicken. Served hot and fresh, it didn’t disappoint.

We’ve still got a few more stops on the Pier to take you along, so join us right back here soon!

There is SO much more fun to be had on Pixar Pier! See it ALL here!!
