You might recall when Disneyland Resort’s Village Haus was shrouded in Beauty and the Beast details and renamed Red Rose Taverne, but what might surprise you is that the shroud remains intact! Red Rose Taverne is still very much a part of the park’s Fantasyland, and — as such — it’s also getting in the Halloween Time spirit!

Like Jolly Holiday, where guests can munch on cupcakes and other sweet treats, and Award Wieners, where funnel cake fries rule, Red Rose Taverne is going after a trick or treater’s sweet tooth! The treat is the Black Rose Dessert.

The Black Rose Dessert is intriguing from start to finish. Its molded rose shape and deep color are highlighted by tons of edible glitter.

We’re glad it’s called the Black Rose Dessert, but if they’d gone with Edible Glitter Dessert, we’d totally understand. 😉

The cross-section of this treat shows a few secrets. The base is a thin layer of chocolate cake, but the majority of this dessert is a dark chocolate mousse. In the center, a raspberry compote and crunch lend tartness and texture.

The Black Rose Dessert has a lot of flavor, and the mousse is wonderfully smooth. But overall, this isn’t a destination dessert in my opinion. See our other reviews for  Still, that might make it fit the Halloween Time celebration even better!
