We bid a sad kwaherini to our beloved Peanut Butter Brownie at the Mara at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Lodge this summer, but we’re thrilled to say: it’s back! But things aren’t precisely as they were. The original Peanut Butter Brownie was a dense chocolate brownie completely covered in creamy peanut butter frosting.

And it. was. awesome. Like go-out-of-your-way-to-get-it awesome. Seriously, we loved this thing.

And now not one, but two intrepid Insta-friends have sent us pictures of the brownie’s new incarnation. (We love our Insta-friends even more than the brownie. Y’all are the best!)

Not only has the Peanut Butter Brownie got a new look… it’s also got a new name! The Nyala Brownie is named after a strong spiral-horned antelope that’s native to the southern area of the African continent. And the new design seems to be mimicking the Nyala.

You can see the Mickey-shaped trio of frosting swirls — no more full frosting coverage!! — as well as a central line of white frosting to mimic the Nyala’s snout and two tiny chocolate horns. A+ for creativity, D- for reducing the amount of peanut butter frosting!

We’re definitely happy to see the Peanut Butter — ahem Nyala — Brownie is back. But we will miss the abundant frosting. Trust us: we’ll be digging in to see how this is just as soon as we’re back from our two-week safari! And huge thanks to @kiana_ew and @mollymcbutter91 for thinking of us and sending photos when you spotted the Nyala Brownie!
