Disney4me
Today we’re bringing you a guest review from our DFB pal Jennifer Elliott, who attended the new Rose & Crown Tea Experience in Epcot’s World Showcase! This weekend, I had the privilege to attend The Rose & Crown’s brand new Tea Experience. It began promptly at 9:45 am, so make sure to allow plenty of time to walk to the United Kingdom Pavilion. Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room Upon your arrival, you will check in and be seated in the dining room of the Rose & Crown Pub. In front of you will be a tiny tea pot that holds a place card with your party’s name on it. Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room The tables are set with cream, sugar, empty bulb cups, Twining’s tea bags, and a set of tongs. Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room Our Hostess, Brogan, normally works at the tea shop in the UK Pavilion. She was very knowledgeable about all things Twining’s Tea and taught us how to best brew a proper “cuppa”. (Hint, for black tea 3 minutes max in hot water, or your tea will become bitter.) Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room Once we discussed tea it was time to brew our Earl Grey and Chai Pumpkin Spice teas. We then tried each one and discussed if we preferred one or the other. Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room Some trivia about tea is thrown in to keep the whole experience fun and informative. We then were introduced to the Chef while the servers brought out a sampling of tea sandwiches. They were Salmon Salad with Pickles, Irish Cheese and Pickle, Egg Salad, and Curry Chicken. All were delicious and the edible Hawaiian Orchid was a lovely touch. This was also accompanied by an iced Lady Earl Grey tea. Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room Next, we were taught how to brew the second set of teas, Green Tea with Pomegranate, Raspberry and Strawberry and Chamomile with Honey & Vanilla. Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room Finally, the Chef introduced the final course, a Plain and Fruit Scone with Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam. Tea Experience at Rose & Crown Pub and Dining Room The experience lasted about 45 minutes, but we didn’t feel rushed to finish our food or drinks. They do seat small parties with other guests, but we found this to be fun as we conversed about what we liked and didn’t like about tea. At $30 per person it was a good value, and there was enough food to satisfy. Click here for info about booking the Epcot Rose and Crown Morning Tea Experience!
