Disney4me
We just showed off a few fun Halloween and fall-time treats unique to Walt Disney World a few days ago, and reviewed that yummy cinnamon pumpkin cupcake in Animal Kingdom as well! Now we’re headed over to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to tackle another Halloween-y sweet treat — the Poison Apple Cupcake! Let me just remind everyone that accepting a poison apple from some mean, scary witch in the forest is a bad idea. Really, a terrible one. Snow White taught us all a valuable lesson. But, accepting a poison apple cupcake from the lively cast members at Roaring Fork in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, well, that’s a completely different story. Spoiler alert: It’s a really good idea. And a delicious one, too. Roaring Fork Limited Time Poison Apple Cupcake We LOOOOVE Wilderness Lodge. It’s like walking into a fall/winter day in a National Park Lodge every time I’m there…which is a nice mind trick when it’s still. so. freaking. hot. in Florida. Throw a Halloween-themed cupcake into the mix, and I’m game. The Poison Apple Cupcake is a caramel-filled, apple-flavored cupcake, with generous heaping of chocolate ganache that flows down the sides, complete with that evil glare made famous by the Evil Queen in her old hag disguise. Poison Apple Cupcake Right off the bat, you can taste apple from the cupcake. At first glance it looks as if it’s red velvet, but it’s not. It was almost as if they churned fresh apples and threw them into the batter, and it was delicious. Adding to that, it’s filled with caramel. And it tastes like the same caramel you can find in the Germany pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase. It’s thick and incredibly flavorful. I wish I could have had a cup of that alone! Caramel Filling The one downside I had with this cupcake wasn’t the red icing, but the green ganache on top of it. It tasted like artificial food dye and nothing more. Still, it made for a perfect Poison Apple look. Poison Apple Cupcake at Roaring Fork If you’re looking for a fun, creative take on a caramel apple while visiting Walt Disney World, it’s a no-brainer to try this out. You’ll find it at Roaring Fork through October 31st, so you have 11 more days, people! ;-D To check out more fun Halloween eats at Disney World right now, see our exclusive DFB Halloween Snacks Printable for Magic Kingdom here, or read up on sweet treats around the World here!
