Disney4me
OK, we just told you about an off-the-menu, secret Bell Burger loaded with lobster over at Liberty Tree Tavern. And today we’ve got another specialty burger to share with you! …are you ready for a SPAM BURGER?!? We’re taking you over to Capt. Cooks at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for this sweet treat. Specialty Pineapple Spam Burger at Captain Cook’s Our instagram follower @DisneyKismet sent us word of this yesterday and we couldn’t wait to try it! But listen, when we ordered the Specialty Burger, they never gave it a name, which was kind of a bummer. And when they rang it up it went under the name “Fish Taco Fries” and I doubt that’s what they meant to call it So…yeah. We’re just calling it the Pineapple Spam burger, OK? This burger is topped with arugula, Gouda cheese, pineapple, spiced ham (SPAM), and a teriyaki mayonnaise. Talk about interesting. But does interesting always mean good? Right off the bat we see a perfect-complexion brioche bun, which was a bit sweet. Capt. Cooks gave a generous helping of arugula, which almost disappointed me since I’m not a huge fan; but the teriyaki mayonnaise off-set the mass helping of greens. Speaking of the teriyaki mayonnaise — love it. You know how at Cheeseburger in Paradise they have that one sauce they seem to throw on everything? Uh, yeah. Can we have that at Disney with this mayonnaise? The spiced ham, or SPAM, tasted like the outside skin of a Christmas ham after it has been broiled in the oven— a surprisingly great flavor, for a rather common ingredient. It complemented the grilled pineapple, which in turn, complemented the melted-goodness of the Gouda cheese. All the flavors worked and we can highly recommend this one! Kudos to Disney for the fun and original burgers lately — we are completely HERE for it! Click here to check out a new Secret Menu item Burger in Magic Kingdom!
